(He does have more than these two fingers)

Kudos this month go to Mr. Glenn Gacek of Jacksonville, Florida. Glen Graduated from National Truck Drivers School in June of 2000. He chose to start his new career with National for several reasons. Yes, we are close to his home, but there is more than one school close to Glenn. Glenn may have picked us for financial reasons. We are competitively priced. Glen may also have chosen us because we are approved for Military assistance in the form of DANTES and GI Bill. He may have just liked the fact that we are nationally accredited. We are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC), Washington, D.C. The DETC is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and is a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). All of these added up make Glenn’s choice a no-brainer. Glenn could have been swayed to enroll with us because we are the only school with a 1 and 1/4 mile private track.

Before deciding on a career in trucking, Glenn was a sailor in the U.S. Navy. His specialty was explosive ordinance disposal. This might have been exciting, but let’s face it; reaching retirement age might be a challenge.

Glen left military service in order to improve his odds of keeping his fingers and to pursue a childhood interest in trucking. He now enjoys driving for C.A.R. Towing. Glen now specializes in heavy towing and recovery. He can now dress a bit more comfortably as well.

Glenn had multiple job offers before graduation and chose C.A.R. “I picked them mainly because I could be home in the evenings about 99% of the time.

During Glenn’s stay with us at our training facility in Green Cove Springs, he was exposed to all facets of truck driving. He became proficient with log books, shifting 10-speed transmissions, backing a 48 foot trailer into a loading dock, and many more challenging feats of skill. When we asked him what the most challenging part of the training was for him, he simply answered; “Bill’s lectures.” Bill has been known to color a lesson or two with a “road story.” Road stories are similar to sea stories and war stories. Road stories are always interesting, sometimes educational, and almost always a stretch of the truth. Old Bill has moved on now, so any of you considering National for truck driver training will not have to endure “I swear this is the truth, There I was headin’…”

Glenn is hear-by proclaimed as National Truck Drivers School Graduate of the Month for March 2004.
