In May of 1999, Bernard Johnson had achieved a major goal in his life. After trying to make a living as a car salesman and a realtor, he realized it was killing him. We all know the countless hours these professions demand, and often at the cost of fun, family, and health. Bernard wanted more from life and more time to enjoy it. Being that Bernard loves traveling, he decided “why not get paid to do it!”

He told us “This career change will do me good.” With drive, determination and tenacity, Bernard enrolled in a trucking school. He didn’t just enroll in any trucking school. Bernard did some research and discovered that National Truck Drivers School offered more driving time than any other school in the area. (We invite you to verify that for yourself.) Bernard needed all that driving time to master the skills required to be ready to hire. He struggled with backing the rigs into loading docks, but did overcome the challenge and successfully completed the course. He did so well that he received five job offers prior to finishing his training. Of the five offers, Bernard chose Arrow trucking.

Arrow Trucking operates 1,450 tractors and 1,930 trailers, with terminals in six states. Arrow serves its growing customer base with virtually every type of over-the-road trailer, including flatbed truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), heavy haul, specialized and dry van truckload. Their modern fleet of tractors has an average age of 1 1/2 years, and each carries satellite communications equipment so the customer’s freight can be constantly tracked. Arrow maintains Interstate Commerce Commission permits to transport general commodities throughout the 48 contiguous United States and into Canada with line haul and regional fleets.

Arrow has a strong commitment to its drivers. “Employees are a reflection of our success and we recognize the importance of retaining quality drivers with extra perks and support.” One of the perks is In-Cab Email. Arrow rewards its drivers with a competitive pay scale and opportunities for additional income. In Addition, the offer Top cents-per-mile pay, Sign-On/Retention Bonus, and Driver Referral Bonus, just to name a few.

Bernard told us candidly that “This is the most exciting job I have ever had.” Not only does he does enjoy what he does, he has time for fun and family. Bernard participates in a variety of off duty activities, but his favorite is music. We at National truck Drivers School salute Bernard for having the courage and follow through to embark on a new career path. We wish him continued success and are proud to proclaim him our…
