Dear Mr. Wade:
TMC was founded in 1972 by Harold Annett and has grown into the largest privately held flatbed carrier in the nation. We haul a wide range of product with building materials, steel, lumber and pipe being the highest in volume. We also serve as a dedicated carrier for well known companies such as Home Depot, Loews, Weyerhaeuser and many others. We are proud of our reputation as an organization that strives for and achieves excellence in all aspects of our business. We currently employ over 2,500 tractor trailer drivers across the nation, many living in Florida and the greater Southeast.
In 1993 we determined that we would need to recruit new drivers from schools in order to grow our fleet with the high quality drivers that we demand. About 70% of the new drivers we hire every year are new graduates of a truck driving school. We expect to grow our fleet to over 3,000 trucks in the next few months and look to your driving school as a key supplier of new drivers in your region.
Since acquiring Terry Dix Trucking, a Lake City, FL based carrier, earlier this year we have started to recruit more heavily in your state. We have recruited students from National and we are very pleased with the quality of the students and their retention rate. We will continue to recruit new drivers from National and look forward to a growing relationship. Please contact me if you have any questions or issues you would like to discuss.
Regards,
Duane W. Boswell
