Palm Beach Community College

Our distinguished partner in training excellence.

According to the American Trucking Association (ATA) in 2005, the transportation industry in the U.S. was experiencing a national shortage of 20,000 truck drivers. The forecast predicts this shortage will grow to 111,000 by the year 2014 - ONLY 7 years from now.

The statistics above only reflect the long-haul (over-the-road) segment of the industry, as of 2005. The industry, across all segments, has experienced a shortage of 195,000.

As stated by Bill Graves, ATA President and CEO, "It's critical that we find ways to tap a new labor pool, increase wages and recruit new people into the industry that keeps our national economy moving."

However, new labor pools cannot be created without having a method to build the pool itself. To build this pool people need to be trained to safely drive these massive machines on our roadways.

Recognizing this need, Palm Beach Community College (PBCC), a distinguished leader in Collegiate level education since 1933 with over 47,000 students, decided to establish a truck driver training program to, once again, serve the needs of the Palm Beach community.

In keeping with tradition, PBCC was tasked with finding a way to provide such training in a high quality format and, at the same time, keep the cost affordable for their students.

In order to accomplish these goals PBCC has teamed up with National Training Inc.'s Truck Driver Training program. PBCC teamed up with National Training because we are a fully accredited program, with 29 years in business and over 30,000 graduates. National also has a custom designed 350 acre training facility with large classrooms and a private 1-1/4 mile driving skills track. National Training hold's its students to the same high level and quality of education as Palm Beach Community College. The relationship between PBCC and National gives this partnership a solid foundation.

Together we believe we can serve the needs of our local communities and the great state of Florida as well.

National Training would like to welcome our distinguished partners at Palm Beach Community College.
