Another Great Winner...
Meet Ecedro E. Lindquist, National Truck Drivers School Graduate of the Month for December 1999. Ecedro hails from Orlando, Florida, with his wife Charise and their three children Eshania, Ekaila and Equame. Prior to attending National Truck Drivers School, Ecedro worked as a courier, and more recently, an electrician doing contract work in his local area. As a lot of people know, being a contractor is living from one job to the next, and if the jobs are not available, neither is the money.
This type of life style was not going to cut it for Ecedro. He knew he wanted an exciting career with excellent opportunities, and the pay to go along with it too. That is what prompted Ecedro to become a Professional Truck Driver. After doing some research, Ecedro learned the truck driving industry had everything he was looking for, plenty of job opportunities, excellent pay and benefits. Now that Ecedro knew what he wanted to do for a career, he talked with some professional truck drivers and learned that National Truck Drivers School offered more hands on training than the any other schools he had researched. Which, according to Ecedro, was the reason he chose National Truck Drivers School to receive his CDL Class “A” drivers license.
During Ecedro's training at National, he told us that the “backing” part of training gave him the hardest time. For those of you who don't know about “backing”, it is the part of training in which the student has to carefully maneuver the tractor-trailer into a very tight parking space while driving backwards. This maneuver takes a great deal of concentration and precision from the driver. Being the determined individual that he is, Ecedro listened to National's professional instructors and passed with flying colors.
While attending training, Ecedro received 5 job leads through National's job placement assistance program. Ecedro is now working for Werner Enterprises driving a brand new 1998 Condo Freightliner tractor. Not only did Ecedro choose Werner for their new equipment, he also chose Werner because they offered him his dream of excellent pay, great opportunities, and benefits. Even though Werner offered Ecedro everything he wanted in a career, they are even reimbursing him for the cost of all his training. We are sure Ecedro will agree, this sure beats crawling around in some blistering hot building chasing wires any day.
Ecedro graduated from National Truck Drivers School in December of 1998 and has been working for Werner Enterprises for one year now. Every now and then, as Ecedro is sitting in his comfortable drivers chair taking in the wide-open view of the road, he thinks back to those days of wondering when his next job will be and just sighs with relief for deciding to become Professional Truck Driver.
All of us at National Truck Drivers School hope Ecedro has continued success in his career and wish the best for him and his family. Congratulations Ecedro, you have shown a level of maturity and professionalism far beyond your 22 years.
